I’m currently a Lead Product Designer at Silicon Valley Bank.

I started my career as a graphic designer obsessed with the psychology behind good design. Now, my background in visual design informs the way I build experiences around thoughtful interactions. My focus is uncovering the intersection of customer goals and business needs to create digital solutions that are engaging and successful.

When I’m not designing, you’ll find me taking photos and searching for the best southern food in New York.

Principles

Design for good / Designers have an ethical responsibility to create products that have a positive impact on their users. It’s important to me to partner with companies whose values are aligned with my own.

Design is built on learning / Designers don’t know all the answers. We need to listen to our users and business counterparts, balancing empathy for our customers and for the business. We need to try, to test, to learn and to iterate. Then, repeat and listen more.

Design is problem-solving / Complicated problems are opportunities for creative solutions. User Experience frameworks can highlight current user frictions and align cross-functional teams around a future vision.

Design should scale / Designing for scale and longevity is dependent on thoughtfully implemented systems and libraries. Organization drives efficiency and consistency in teams. We should aim to optimize our daily processes, not just our users’ experiences.
